France is a pet loving nation and every California vineyard has at least one 'official' winery dog or cat prized for stealing-the-show. Mark Enlow, General Manager for Tamayo Family vineyards, and French native, Eric Lambert, Chef de cuisine and owner of Rue Saint Jacques, are prout to help support the premier provider of humane animal treatment in the Bay Area. Since its opening in 1947, Pets Unlimited (www.petsunlimited.org) has saved the lives of over 250,000 dogs by running a state-of-the-art center that relies on charitable donations. For four consecutive years it has been named "Best Veterinarian" by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. Kate Shilvock, Director of Development for Pets Unlimited, said, "Every dollar donated enables us to save the lives of more cats and dogs in need throughout the Bay Area with no where left to turn."
Tamayo Family Vineyards selections for the evening will include their 2007 Cana Proprietary Estate Blend that wone 92 points and the Gold at the 2009 World Wine Championships and the Silver at the 2009 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. Wine Enthusiast wrote their wines are "....so delicious you'll want to drink the entire bottle." General Manager, Mark Enlow, who has lived in Europe and travelled the world in studying wines also holds a Culinary Arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America in New York. He looks forward to meeting fellow animal lovers at the winemaker dinner and answering guest's questions.
