This Cab is Sumptuous!
Over our 10 year history, we have produced a number of Cabernet Sauvignons from various vineyard sources in Napa Valley. Our own Logan's Run vineyard on the Silverado trail produced several Cabernets of notable elegance, while our 2005 offering from Spring Mountain won critical praise and sold out in almos record time.
This, our 2007 vintage, sets a whole new standard for our portfolio of appellation specific bottlings under the Tamayo hallmark. Here Jon has beautifully married Cabernet Sauvignon from Calistoga with elegant Merlot from the Stags Leap district for a truly distinctive Napa Valley wine. This wine drinks rich with youthful fruit aromatic complexities. The palate is full of black cherry flavors harmonizing with French oak undercurrents and superb structure for the long haul.
Hence, while this Cab is sumptuous enough to enjoy in the mid-term, reward yourself by hiding this one in the cellar for a while longer. Very small production this year at just over 300 cases.
